Short description
Mobility 2030 – Between Dynamism and Standstill

The ifmo presents the second update of its study for passenger and freight traffic in Germany, which is the only, regularly updated study of its kind, covering all modes of transport. The current study builds on the Institute’s tradition of providing long-term future forecasts in the area of mobility. However, in times of economic crisis and escalating public deficits, resource shortages and climate change, but also of highly dynamic emerging markets, any prediction of future developments is fraught with much more uncertainty. Based on the assessments and visions of more than 80 experts from business, industry and academia, three very different scenarios for the future (mobility) development in Germany have therefore been developed.
